International Program

2018 -2022

Since 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has implemented programs of service impacting countless lives.

 

The 2018-2022 International Program will focus on Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, through its nearly 300,00 members and over 1000 chapters, will have an opportunity to address community needs with programs in five target areas:

Community Impact Days

In addition to the program targets, the Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service administration is pleased to continue Community Impact Days. Chapters will engage in simultaneous activities that will benefit the community and continue our commitment to lifelong service.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January)

  • Pink Goes Red for Heart Health Day (February)

  • 1908 Playgrounds Mobilization Day (May)

  • The Longest Day™ Alzheimer’s Support Activities (June)

  • Mental Health Awareness Day (July)

  • Childhood Hunger Awareness Day (October)

TARGET 1:

HBCU for Life: A Call to Action

Promoting, supporting, and encouraging students to attend HBCUs.  

SIGNATURE PROGRAM - #CAP

Assisting students to enter college using an hands-on approach that includes the steps from researching various colleges to completing the application process.

TARGET 2 :

Women's Healthcare & Wellness

Raising community awareness about critical health issues impacting the lives of African-American women.

TARGET 3

Building Your Economic Legacy

Financial planning, asset accumulation, and wealth building, managing debt, and improving credit. Supporting and encouraging African-American businesses through entrepreneurship.

TARGET 4

The Arts!

Exposing students to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on the arts and celebrating the contributions of African-American artists. 

TARGET 5

Global Impact

Collaborating with organizations to assist international areas populated with people of color, including supporting organizations engaged in initiatives that assist refugees and their families integrate into American life.
